"It's a Small, Small (Fashionable) World!"

Hi Everyone!

Looking back at this week, I've realized that it was filled with both fashion and friends... two of my favorite things!

FNO 2012
Last Thursday (9/6) was Fashion Night Out, which is essentially an entire night dedicated to fashion.  The original purpose of FNO was to stimulate the economy by offering shoppers one of a kind deals in major cities, but now it has turned into this huge star-studded event!  Instead of going to Uptown Manhattan where all of the big department store and celebrity appearances were occurring, we decided to take a less-populated approach by going to Soho... much to our surprise, the streets were packed!!  Despite all of the people, we still managed to have a great time, and we even ran into some Mercyhurst fashion alumni... what are the chances in a city with 8 million people?!

Mercyhurst Fashion Girls in Manhattan
This Saturday, my roommates and I also met up with some Mercyhurst fashion girls who are currently juniors also looking to participate in the visiting students program.  Believe it or not, this was the first time the four of us had all gone out, so it was nice to be able to do that and also show our Mercyhurst friends an abridged version of life in Manhattan.  We ended up going to a pub down the street and ended up ordering appetizers and sandwiches.  At the end of the night, we showed the girls our apartment, since none of us ever had the chance to visit one before we moved in.

So although the girls and I are still getting used to literally being one in a million (Manhattan's population is 1.6 million!), this week just goes to show that even in a large city, you still manage to find and meet up with people you know! =)
