Photo Flashback: 3 Years of MSG

Hi Everyone,

Hurst Fest, Sophomore Year
Today was our MSG end of the year banquet, which may not seem like that big of a deal, but as a 3 year member of MSG, it definitely was more than just a brunch.  And believe it or not, tomorrow is my last official Monday night MSG meeting-- after this week, I'll have my first free Monday night, which I haven't had since winter term freshman year!  However, after looking through all of my pictures and thinking about some of my best memories, MSG has definitely been a huge part of it... here are some pics to prove it!
Freshman Year- our first Spring Fest!

Freshman Year: At the end of freshman year, I ran to become a Sophomore class senator.  As my first (of soon to be many!) duties on MSG, I had to work Spring Fest, which is one of our biggest events on campus.  Here's a photo of my friends from my floor (and still some of my best friends today!) at the Friday night Spring Fest concert.
Spring Fest Round 2!

Sophomore Year: Between Hurst Fest, Executive Board Elections and another Spring Fest, Sophomore Year was definitely defined by 3 letters: M.S.G.!

Xmas on Campus, MSG Style
Junior Year: Although at this point I can practically consider myself a seasoned pro at MSG events, I now realize how much MSG has given to me.  Not only have I been able to be a voice for students AND a voice to administration on behalf of students, but I have also been fortunate enough to have met so many different people and make some of my best friends.  Lesson of the story: it's never too late to try something new! =)

Luck of the Irish

3 of my roommates and
So this past weekend was St. Patrick's Day, which of course is a big deal for our school with our Irish heritage.  I swear we must have had the luck of the Irish this past Saturday because the weather was in the 70's and GORGEOUS!

Dinner in the front yard
My friends and I started the day off at the Cornerstone, where everyone was dressed in their green garb.  We continued the day with playing frisbee in the yard, walking around campus, and just enjoying the nice day.  In fact, one of our streets with a bunch of apartments and townhouses was filled with a sea of green students playing games in the yards, socializing, and having a good time-- we even made the local news!  My roommates and I ended the evening with pizza in our yard and then we all continued the festivities and went back to Cornerstone where we met up with more Mercyhurst students.

Luck of the Irish? It must be!
Although I knew that Sunday was going to be filled with lots of homework (the work I neglected to do on Saturday, of course!), I was pleasantly surprised at the end of the day with a gorgeous double rainbow arching over one of our academic buildings.  I couldn't think of a better way to end a great weekend =)  Here's to many, many more great memories and sunny days!

Spring (Term) Fever!

Hi Everyone!

What a great first weekend back into the term!  March is always one of my favorite months of the school year because there's always lots of fun things going on and this week was no exception.

On Saturday, my Mom came up for Spring Tea on Sunday (will get to later).  Having your parents come visit you on campus is always a lot of fun because you not only get to see them, but you usually get a nice, off-campus dinner out of the visit too =)  My mom and I spent the afternoon shopping and then a few of my friends met my mom and I at a restaurant called Firebirds (check it out, it's delicious!) for dinner.  Later that evening, my friends and I went to the Mary D'Angelo Performing Arts Center to watch a viewing of The Help which was a lot of fun too.

The Roomies!
And then on Sunday was Spring Tea, which is a ceremony for the Ambassadors Club which inducts the new Ambassadors in and says goodbye to the graduating Ambassadors.  Because so many of my friends and I are ambassadors, it was a great time to all get together and recognize how we wouldn't have known each other if it wasn't for the Ambassadors Club.
Junior Ambassadors

Not only are a lot of my friends ambassadors, but all of my roommates are ambassadors, so it was an exceptionally special day for all of us.

Here's to even more great weekends to come! =)

Spring Break!! Panama City Beach, FL

Hi Everyone!

This past spring break, a group of my close friends and I all went to Panama City Beach, FL for a week away from the chilly North East.  Having our spring break earlier than most students was very convenient because we managed to avoid a lot of crowds.

The water was FREEZING!
Although we joked we were the youngest people there (we found out that PCB is a hot spot for the retiring elderly!) my friends and I were able to truly get a relaxing vacation that we all deserved.  Between the Gulf, the pool, and the hot tub that were all within walking distance of our condo, we definitely spent a lot of time in the water!

School Pride =)

While in Panama City Beach, my friends and I ate out a lot, but the one place that definitely sticks out in my head was a seafood restaurant called Shuckums.  The whole restaurant was covered in dollar bills that guests would decorate and hang and they had the most delicious seafood!

Dining in Style ;)
We also ate at this restaurant where you got made fun of by the waiters and you had to wear funny hats that your waiter made for you.  And of course, the menu items were outrageously named too!  It was a last minute decision that we definitely didn't regret!

Palm trees, ocean breeze...
All in all, I ended up having an amazing time in Panama City Beach with my friends.  It was hard coming back knowing that it was going to be winter again and also that within days, I'd be starting Spring Term of my Junior year!  Lucky for me, Spring Term is jam-packed with fun things to look forward to! =)
